Got a few inches already–so Emerald usually gets twice as much! And the trails at Emerald Lake just got done yesterday afternoon. Back to winter and loving it.
The Connector is now for snowshoes!
It’s spring–and we decided to CLOSE the Connector for SKIING and open it up to snowshoes. It just gets too fast and icy for skiing. So we took the track out and Joe will use it to travel with the sled to the Valley trails. He said the Tak. Falls road is very good right now–JUST GROOMED. Monarch is dirty but passable–JUST GROOMED. The Kicking Horse is good as always–JUST GROOMED. Likely the Monarch and Tak. Road will be the first to bite the bullet. Off track skiing should happen soon–but it’s pretty warm out there too. Spring….enjoy the long days, sun and warm weather.
It’s a powder day!
Finally — some nice fresh snow–about 4-5″ and Hans came out this afternoon the set the tracks at the lake. He did not do the full loop on the lake as it was getting a bit warm again.
Joe is scheduled to do the Connector and all valley trails tomorrow!
Yesterday’s snow!
That lovely 2″ of snow at Emerald Lake really helped the trails–especially after Hans renovated on the 26th. The tracks are improving and we have a loop on the lake now as well. Valley trails remain pretty good but the Connector should be quite fast. Careful or avoid it.
Find this new bench!!
For your viewing & resting pleasure….come find it! Trails in Yoho are still plenty good. Emerald is due to get a refresh today. The short section on the ice which takes you to shore trails is the only really icy spot.
We even did the fan trail in moon light on Saturday! Come on out and play–send us a photo of you on the new bench and we’ll post it. Cheers
Trail report +
All lower valley trails got a refresh yesterday(KHF–Connector–Monarch–Tak.Falls) and today Hans is do to refresh the Emerald Trails. The trails got a good workout over the long weekend with the warm weather. Don’t let the icy section on the lake turn you around–it gets way better on the shore trails.
Our Ski Club Dinner on Sat. was wonderful! Thanks again to all who helped with setting up–donating door prizes/auction prizes–Bruce with his wooden ski info–our chefs Steve and Andrea Lay and the clean up crew.
The next event coming up is the MOON LIGHT SKI ON SATURDAY….. at Emerald Lake at 8 pm. Come and join us.
