There is a large open hole on the ice at Emerald–very close to the main bridge and x-c ski trail!!! Do not approach ! It is not unusual for holes to form anywhere on Emerald–due to warm springs. Could be slush around it as well. We’re lucky to have this mild weather but…..these things happen with it. ALWAYS USE CAUTION ON THE ICE!

The trails at Emerald all DID get a first “Track Set” yesterday! Read the post for Dec 13th…….. and….it snowed a bunch of lovely snowflakes also!!! Enjoy the powder!
Friday–Dec. 13th
Joe has a done more packing at Emerald Lake yesterday on the Fan and Horse Trail–but no actual track yet! The Tree Hugger on shore needs more snow … due to the big rocks & downed trees. Snow is just a bit too sugary & light yet. Use caution! He plans to go back out there today! He is hopeful that he will have a track on both today…..He just stopped in at 10 am to let me know that…so…..take your chances…could we a very good weekend!
