Wed. Dec. 8

Emerald got tons of snow! The lake is still a mess with lots of slush(but by the look of the weather report–it could all freeze up again in a week??)…but Joe was out there all day and got the trails back in shape–cutting a few trees and doing many passes to pack that powder DOWN! And he set a track.

We need help lifting the benches up–before we loose them. Lift them out of the hole–fill in the hole and replace the bench at a higher level. Pretty simple.

He plans to try to punch through the Connector tomorrow–now that we have enough snow. Punching through can take 2-3 days! Patience everyone….. it’s coming! Marilyn

Sunday Funday!

Sunday was a beautiful day for ski. After the crazy wind storm on Saturday that wreck a bit our trails, Joe tracked set Tally Ho from Field Visitor Centre, Kicking Horse Trail and Emerald Lake area.

Happy Trails,

Paulina

Tally Ho and Kicking Horse Trail on Jan. 3rd!

Great day skiing from the town of Field on the Tally Ho trail to Natural Bridge and then the Kicking Horse to the Amiskwi Fire Circle. At around 2 pm caught up with Joe, who had just set a beautiful track for us to follow to the Natural Bridge 3/4 along the Tally ho trail. With all the recent snowfall in Yoho, the trees were garnished in snow. Recent moose tracks along the Kicking Horse River and the Amiskwi River. Warm day and our wax worked well for glide and climbed up the hills to Field.

Happy Trails,
Lorraine and Paulina

Tracks–Friday Dec. 3

He left Field on the sled, up the Tally-Ho to the Natural Bridge, up the ROAD to Emerald–did all those trails(not on the ice–on shore), came back down the road, did the Kicking Horse trail again and back home on the Tally-Ho to set the final track! Now that’s a long day on the sled!!! Thank you Joe!

Low and behold…….UPDATE AT 1.40 PM DEC…4

A HUGE WIND blew in from the South for an hour and likely wiped out ALL TRAILS !!!! What ya gonna do??? Break trail???? or ask Joe to do it all over again! That’s winter for ya…. stay tuned …Marilyn

Happy new tracks!

After over 25cms of amazing snow, Joe was out on Thursday, January 2nd and he tracked from Field Visitor Centre to the Tally Ho and the Natural Bridge. Kicking Horse Fireroad and Otterhead are ready to enjoy as well.

Lorraine skied the fire road, and she says “Beautifully groomed”

Happy trails,

Paulina
