She’s warm out there !! Update….No track set trails at Emerald yet!

Great to stand around and social distance with skis(and mask)  on but…..pretty darn sticky/grabby beautiful gorgeous snow on the KH Fire Road today—and the trail is still pretty good.

Meanwhile….  Joe put the Alluvial Fan bridge in today with help from locals Loyd and John and Jim.  Much appreciated help doing all that hard work!  The upper side of the fan —from the  guardrail bridge towards Yoho Pass bridge looked like sand dunes(Joe says)—and not very nice snow.  It may be a while before we get a trail on it……got some snowshoers going out tomorrow(hopefully) to pack the 3 kms of trail down and set a base—if they can get through it with good old big wooden snowshoes that will float as they have proven they can do ???

 Be patient….  Can’t help the snow/weather conditions….

The lake is very slushy now with the mild weather too…..stay off it!

Be weary of the avalanche path—cross with caution and get out of there!

KHFR done!

Saw Joe heading back to town(2 pm) when we were just leaving town looking for a trail(we would of skied the sled track)—he DID do it and we went for it—— fabulous first tracks !!!!!  If you are around tomorrow???   Give it a shot from Info or Natural Bridge –though–one tree down since he went through–at the Old Ski Hill–just one Km up from the highway crossing. Skee ya later……

Some 25 cm of SNOW

Got great snow for packing –Joe did the Kicking Horse Fire Road–but he could NOT track it due to the mild weather. Like sledding in MUD he says! More of the same today–but by tonight it will get colder! Ski ya later…..

The blue skies & sunshine are incredible!

We are lucky to have “some” tracks in Yoho–and mild, sunny ski days. Looks like another week of it–sure hope the tracks hold out! Still not enough snow at Emerald to set track on the fan or make the bridge! The lake is freezing slowly–not safe yet. (is it ever?) Skee you later eh?
