A trail !!
January 2, 2022–Sunday
Happy 2022 !!! And now we finally have groomed ski tracks at Emerald Lake !! Joe was there today and with the warmer temperature and new fresh snow– he was able to make a track on the Lake, up the Horse Trail, and around the Fan. So many people were walking on the trails and punching through and the frigid temps hindered the track setting—it could not be helped over this busy New Year’s weekend. But now it will be more gentle. All the best of skiing in 2022!
New Year’s Eve
Joe was out today–at Emerald. Very busy with folks of all kinds. The tracks are hard with this Cold Front so there is no stopping them from walking, snowshoeing. He packed all around but the surface was too hard to set a track. the lake however–is pretty solid where his track goes–NO slush. So……
Happy New Year 2022 !! Enjoy and keep warm…..KHSC
Ho Ho Ho…
Dec 24th/25th, 2021
It’s Christmas & it’s Yoho Blowing out there–getting colder by the night. Nothing better than a warm fire to sit by and visit. Not so for Joe…or Lorraine and Helen….they were packing the back of the Fan today. Joe did 3-4 rounds of packing so we are getting a handle on it. The volunteers packed with fatter skis and that helped a lot. NO track yet….and NO wind at Emerald either–today anyway. Who knows what Santa will bring??? It is still priority to get Emerald ready before going back to KHFR to re-track and finish the tree cutting. You can get auto updates now….just add your email to the bottom of any of our pages. Happy Holidays!
