We are getting tons of snow! It’s wonderful–except that the sled broke down today on the Kicking Horse Fire Road. Our guys and Parks Candada Guys from Lake Louise–along with some locals–are trying to get it to Golden and fixed to handle this beautiful dump of snow.
Go figure heh? Just come on out and ski–we got the snow! Bring your woodies!
More news when we get some!!! Cheers and have a happy new year!

More tracks
Hans re-tracked the lake(some slush spots) and the Fan and the Horse Trail today and he also snowshoed the Tree Hugger trail to get it packed out. Could be soon for track on it.
Joe got a track setter to Tak. Falls trailhead and is due to trackset it tomorrow after he does the Info Bureau to Natural Bridge and down to the Otterhead.
It’ all coming together(except for the Connector—it needs more snow) Enjoy the holidays!
Pink Sky at Night
Just skied to the creek on the Fan in perfect conditions and witnessed the most beautiful sunset—on Christmas Eve! Tracks at Emerald are wonderful–single loop on the lake ice, double track to the back, Fan is pretty good and so is the Horse trail.
Come on out for a Christmas ski! The store is closed Christmas Day & New Years Day but back on full time over the holidays.
It’s blowing some in the Field Valley today –so tracks are only packed and ski set.
Merry Christmas all. Marilyn & Bruce & Denise
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!
It’s arriving–late coming but just in time for Christmas!
We have a brand new Ginzu Groomer to hook up to Santa’s Sled!
The boys have a track on the ice at Emerald since a couple of days, with a sled packed Alluvial Fan, Horse Trail & the trail from Field to the Natural Bridge and on to the end at the Otterhead River. And now with the new snow– they can go out today to set a track on ALL of it!
The Connector will need more snow yet–(it usually gets done only in January).
We will keep you up to date with other trails as they get done. Come on out and have fun skiing.
Make your reservations for Feb. 16th/2017 Special 30 year Anniversary Night!
Emerald Lake
Yoho and all the Rockies are still in a cold snap–with a gorgeous full moon last night. Walked on Emerald today(close to shore) with the sun to warm us–a few skiers on the ice also but the snow depth is still minimal. Skiing on shore– you would run into rocks for sure(bring out your rock skis). Still great for walking on the hiking trails though.
We plan to open the gift store this weekend but may not rent skis due to the lack of snow. Just getting ready for the holiday season.
All the best to everyone….bring on the snow!!
Store close temporarily
With the event of no power at Emerald– the rental shop will be closed for a couple of days— sorry if this causes inconveniences. Please call ahead to see if we are now operating– if you need rentals!
