Emerald is just freezing up! We won’t get any skating out of this cause the ice is very thin, slushy & snow covered. However– the walking trail is getting packed down really well. Marilyn

November 2017 update
The boys–Joe & Bruce– are working at getting things ready–unloading the trailer from storage, picking up the sled in Golden after it’s annual tune up and putting in the bridges on the Fan, Connector and Field Flats. I’m working on signs, maps & memberships.
The temperatures are good and cold but not enough snow yet! We’ll let you know when we have enough to start packing and clearing the trails. Find your woolies & your wax! MT
A sincere “THANK YOU” to the Management & Staff of Emerald Lake Lodge for the fantastic evening on February 16th 2017,—the 30th Anniversary of
Our Kicking Horse Ski Club!
Such a great success with 130 some skiers attending! Chefs Valerie Morrison & Alistair Barnes and their kitchen staff with all the servers were OUTSTANDING at putting on such a feast! The food, presentation and atmosphere were beyond our expectations and we got so many raving reviews from all the guests.
We also need to acknowledge ALL the staff who helped make this happen—from
administration, front desk, bell staff, housekeeping & maintenance—it is one BIG task to pull this off —especially on the second floor of the lodge!!!
We truly enjoyed the whole 30th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION. Everyone
loved staying overnight at your grand lodge with affordable room and dinner rates you graciously provided to Our Club! You sure made it happen in style for us all. An opportunity we seldom get to experience and truly appreciate!
30 years is an amazing length of time to work alongside each other !!!
THANK YOU for being our partners—and for helping us along. THANK YOU all the skiers who came out to enjoy it.

Heaps of snow fell !!!
Hans is on the tracks at Emerald now–and will be there most of Friday(snorkelling with all our snow).
Joe is due to track on Saturday–for all trails in the Field Valley and Connector. Gotta love it!
Read Jessica’s post just prior to mine ! Come out tonight!
The “Connector” is tracked!!!!
Wow—was it nice to ski it today!! Finally the snow has allowed us to track the Connector from the Natural Bridge to Emerald Lake. So wonderful! Not affected by wind as in the Valley here in Field! Joe also refreshed the Tally Ho trail and trails at Emerald, and yesterday he tracked the Kicking Horse Fire road.
Plans to to Tak. road tomorrow—hopefully the wind is down and he can also do the Monarch but—we’ll see.
We have a night time ski due this Friday with Jessica–location to be announced–and the weather is due to warm up.
Anyone wishing to join us for our 30th anniversary stay at Emerald Lake Lodge or come only for the dinner—MUST RESERVE WITH THE LODGE BY THIS COMING SUNDAY–FEB 12TH.
FEB. 16–THURSDAY is the celebration date!!
CALL 343=6321 AND RESERVE YOUR ROOM OR reserve DINNER ONLY!!
SEE YOU THERE! MARILYN
Nice to have a bit of snow!
We got about 2″ at Emerald and it is lovely and soft…more to come we hope.
The Connector is still not ready! But all trails got better! Though we did get wind in the Field Valley–so expect the trails along the highway to be blown in. Yoho Blow Daze are in in Field–lots of fun games and such. Join in. X-C Downhill from the cemetery is late afternoon on Sunday. Have fun.
