The North side of the walking trail at Emerald(along by the avalanche path) and the trail UP TO the creek on the Alluvial Fan(North again) are pretty good for early ski set trails. The rest of the fan is not worth skiing yet–we trudged through it today but avoid it for now.
Still NOT enough snow to pack the trail by machine.
The lake is only frozen up near the front–between the avalanche path and the point cabin. GREAT reflection of the snowy lodge cabins –all black and white in the darkness of the lake. (no camera today-darn)
Snowshoeing is good—especially if you walk on either side of the ski set trail. And that also helps set a better base for the machine. Gotta love the mild weather.
