Winter greetings skiers! I did my first ski yesterday and on track set trails. The 1A at Lake Louise is quite excellent considering the amount of snow we have. Two classic trails and a large area for skating for all the teams doing practices. The 1A past the Great Divide will NOT be track set this year due to fire prevention in the area.
In Yoho- Parks trail crew has machine packed and cleared the Kicking Horse Trail. The snow is still pretty thin yet. A ski set trail on Yoho Valley Road. Emerald is still gorgeous open water…..weather being so mild.
We have sold off ALL our used equipment including the trailer and donation boxes. Most of it went to Golden to improve private trails. I still plan to keep this website going one more year….. to get input on what to do next?????
The Boathouse at Emerald Lake will be open for rentals of x-c and Snowshoes–opening just before Christmas and Kim will manage it again this year.
